TIP 5 : SPACE BAR SELECTIONS
Another beginner tip, this one’s a massive help for quick edits. It’s also a bit of a lifesaver that goes hand in hand with the last tip , copy merge.
Making a selection is easy, you select the marquee tool and click and drag. Moving that selection? Also easy, just click into it and drag with the marquee tool still selected.
What about if you wanted to move the selection whilst still making it? That’s where the lowly space bar comes in.
Say you begin making a selection, but realise that you’ve started it in the wrong place, and need to move it.
With the mouse button still held down, press the space button and continue moving your mouse as if you were still dragging the selection out. You’ll find that the selection moves with your mouse movement, and once you release the space bar, it goes back to resizing.
Once you get the hang of this, you’ll find it’s something you do innately when making selections, and hopefully it’ll save you a bit of time.
