South Coast Marketing Professionals UK has been created to help you meet other marketers from across the south coast to share industry knowledge and build lasting relationships. The events are all about networking; it’s not about selling your products or services – unlike so many other networking events!
Launch event
The first event takes place on Thursday 28th February at Brewhouse and Kitchen in Southampton 12.30pm – 2.30pm, and includes a light lunch. You can book your tickets here.
The idea behind it all was brought to life after Marketing Manager Emily Digweed from Fortifi reached out online to see if there were any local marketing events. Unfortunately for her, she was met with silence. But fortunately Kerri L Watt (Rising Tide Media) and I saw an opportunity.
Industry thought leaders are already calling the South Coast Marketing Professionals event a much-needed breath of fresh air, and we’ve already been featured in news outlets across the world.
Event agenda
There will a chance to get to know your fellow marketers, as well as listen to talks from industry leading professionals Kerri L Watt and myself.
I’ll be delving into the world of social media algorithms and discussing:
- How these algorithms have developed over the last six months
- What they mean, in real terms, for professional marketers
- How each platform has unique ranking factors
- What does on behind the scenes of the top four algorithms
Kerri will be explaining:
- How to boost your credibility and become an industry expert
- How to position your personal brand as an authority
- Simple tactics to reach the widest audience possible
Kerri L Watt said, “I’ve been waiting years for an event like this. Having worked for myself the past few years, it can be isolating at times so I welcome the opportunity to meet and learn from like-minded people within the industry.” Watt continues, “When I saw no responses to Emily’s social media post asking about marketing events I knew it was our time to bring the idea to life.”
Emily Digweed, says “I love networking events but I find they can be very sales pitch heavy which is sadly rather off putting. I’m excited to attend an event full of marketing industry people wanting to help and support one another.”
You can book your ticket to the event here. The event’s open to all marketing professionals including agency staff, in-house marketers, consultants, freelancers and students.
We look forward to seeing you there!
