How Karma can help your business grow

This year, One2create celebrated its 10 year anniversary.

As with all businesses, there have been ups and downs along the way and it is these experiences that have culminated in a new way of working, which One2create adopted at the start of 2012.

IT ALL CENTRES ON KARMA.

There is a quote from a book of Celtic Wisdom – don’t worry I’m not going to get all Lord of the Rings on you – I just wanted to share it:

“If you send out goodness from yourself, or if you share that which is happy or good within you, it will all come back to you multiplied ten thousand times”

As lines go, it sounds pretty cheesy, right? Well, not when you take what we took from it.

2012 HAS SEEN US CHANGE OUR MENTALITY

We’ve made a conscious effort not to focus too much on sales – becoming information givers instead.

The increased level of influence you will achieve in your business community as a result will drive enhanced trust in your brand. In turn, playing a bigger part in local events and business shows, again with a focus on information giving, will enhance your brand image, prompting people to spread the message about your company through word of mouth.

We have concentrated a large amount of time and resource into getting involved with our local community, in particular through the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce.

GOLD PATRONS AND MORE

2012 has seen us become Gold Patron members of the Chamber, a fact we are immensely proud of.

We are also driving forward with our knowledge-sharing ethos, working to support local businesses through the delivery of several free social media seminars at the end of 2012 and throughout 2013.

In terms of events we are making our presence felt, again focusing on Hampshire Chamber of Commerce events, including ‘Talking Business’ in Basingstoke and ‘Meet the Chamber’ at the Portsmouth Guildhall, where we look forward to receiving our Gold Patron certificate. We’re also supporting the County Air Ambulance service at their Gala event.

What we’re getting at here is the importance of community. It is crucial that we all join together and get involved in what is going on around us, as we all emerge from a recession – a story that has dragged on for too long and is relentlessly disseminated through the media. Our message is clear – the region’s businesses can be proud of themselves for turning economic austerity on its head, achieving success in the face of adversity.

LISTEN AND SHARE FREELY

We’d like to end by giving one piece of advice. Take time to listen to those around you and share your knowledge freely. Ok that’s two bits of advice, but like we said, we’re generous when it comes to sharing.

We have felt the benefits of adopting this policy both at local events, during face to face networking sessions and even through our online efforts, particularly across our social media activities.

If you give people something of value, they will keep coming back for more, while spreading the word that your company is the place to go for the latest tips and tricks. That’s Karma.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at some of our workshops in the future and at upcoming Chamber events.
