Announcing Portsmouth’s Community of Football project

Following the release of the recent Portsmouth News Article, we’re excited to announce that One2create are working with Pompey in the Community to create a brand new football website for the good people of Portsmouth as part of the community of football project.

Following an extensive pitch to impress Sport England to try and secure Portsmouth as, ‘The City of Football’, we narrowly missed out on the title. But… they were so impressed by the passion and ideas put forward that they have awarded Pompey in the Community with £200,000 to fund a 2-year project.

The project will obviously include the design and development of the website, but is part of a much bigger plan. The Pompey in the Community guys will be facilitating staff to run football related events throughout the city and the online hub will be tasked with tracking people’s activities, which will be used to plan future events.

We will also be on hand to support the project after the website launch to continually evolve the system to meet the needs of its users.

Clare Martin, chief executive of Pompey in the Community, said, ‘We’re absolutely delighted to have been given this opportunity by Sport England to demonstrate what we can do.’

‘We may not have won the national prize, but we hope that by the end of the two years we can proudly hold our heads up and say that we made a real difference to the city through the power of football.’

We’ve already been busy working on the design, functionality and build, so we can’t wait to see it go live!
