Top tips for content marketing in 2015

Content marketing is a great way to show the world what your business is about and what services or products you can offer people. Content marketing has evolved over the last few years to include a wider range of online techniques to help boost your SEO and influence within your sector.

Here are some of our top content marketing tips for 2015.

1. Make a plan

Create yourself a content strategy. Doing this will ensure you have a plan in place for the foreseeable future. It may not be practical to prepare a year’s worth of content marketing, but try to get at least 6 months sorted. This way you’ll always be ready and you will know when to act on things. Remember you don’t have to stick solely to this plan – it can be flexible and change depending on hot topics etc in your industry at the time.

2. Find out what works

You can use Google Analytics or another reporting method to figure out what works best for your business. Adapt your content strategy around what people have shown interest in.

3. Visual is great

One thing we have learnt over 2014 is that people love visual content more than ever. And we’re not just talking about images with articles but also infographics, colours and even videos or animations get a load of attention, particularly on social media. So try and stick with the visual theme!

4. Reshare, reshare, reshare

You should always share your blogs and articles on social media to gain more traffic, but have you ever thought about pushing those articles out again? Try adapting the tweet, headline or blurb each time you post it to see what is more effective and gets most attention. In 2015, more companies will be regularly sharing info online so try and reach various different audiences.

5. Be honest

One of the best things about content marketing is the trust you gain with your readers and prospective customers. Having an honest article that reveals ‘industry secrets’ can be the difference between them choosing yours or your competitor’s blog.
