I was excited to help launch the first South Coast Marketing Professionals event with Emily Digweed from Fortifi and Kerri L Watt (Rising Tide Media). If you didn’t make it, or don’t know what all the fuss is about, you can catch up with my last blog here. It was a great event, with an excellent turn out!
Marketers from all over the south coast (even Brighton!) gathered in The Brewhouse & Kitchen in Southampton to share marketing knowledge and insight, whilst hearing talks from Kerri and myself.
Kerri shared some real gold PR nuggets on how to get media coverage and explained how it boosts your credibility and reputation. With so many companies out there all jostling for attention, you need to make sure yours is at the front of the queue!
In my talk about social media algorithms I explained how they are a big deal and how they’ve developed over the last six months. Each platform has unique ranking factors (annoyingly) so social media marketers need to be aware and deliver content in the correct way.
We’ve had great feedback from the event, and have some good ideas for the next one, including a talk on GDPR marketing myth busters which I know will be really useful to a lot of you. Keep your eyes peeled for updates on the next time and date!
